Project Idea: Land Warrior Paintball Edition
I was playing paintball yesterday and trying out a new camera setup I’ve been working on. It works OK but could be a lot better. At the moment I’m just using two cameras, one mounted on my mask as a first person view and another on my gun as a scope view. In order to start recording I have to turn on each camera individually…not ideal. A better idea would be to have a central digital video recorder(DVR) and multiple camera connected to it. That way when it’s time to record i just hit one button and all cameras start recording simultaneously. I could even have more cameras in addition to the ones I’m using. Maybe a selfie cam, 360 cam on my shoulder, or even a remote one that I could put on a window sill or on top of a bunker. I could use a small video monitor, say one used for a vehicles “Back up” camera, strapped to my arm to monitor live feeds from each camera. Or even better.
How about a head-up display mounted inside my mask. While I’m at it, I could use this display to show data about my gun. Things like, a shot counter, remaining air pressure, and time left in the game. Getting something like this to fit inside a paintball mask won’t be easy, but worth a try.
